Objectives and overview of the study programme

The main objective of the Bachelor in Economics Programme is preparing students as general specialists in the field of economics, who can work as such in all entities, whether private or public ones. In public administration units, this diploma gives the graduates the opportunity to work as economists without requiring additional qualifications in finance, management etc. In oreder to achieve these objectives, the programme provides studies in areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, etc.

The knowledge and skills gained by the students through this programme, enable them to pursue second cycle studies, enhancing their professional career opportunities in the field of economic policy or in academic career and research. After additional qualifications, graduates in this programme can teach in high schools the subject of market economy.

  1. General qualification disciplines: Introduction to Economics, Mathematics 1, Microeconomics 1, Macroeconomics 1, Statistics;
  2. Special qualification disciplines:Applied Mathematics, History of World Ecomony, Microeconomics 2, Applied Statistics, Academic Writing, Macroeconomics 2, Labor Economics, International Economics, Introduction to Econometrics, Industrial Economics, Special Seminar on albanian and world economy, Public Sector Economics, Business Law, Bank and money economics, History of Economic Thought, Introduction to Sociology;
  3. Similar or/and integrative disciplines: Business Management, Principles of Accounting, Financial Management;
  4. Elective disciplines: Business Ethics, Organization Behaviour, Basics of Marketing, Financial Accounting, Pedagogy, Phiolosophy, Human Recourses Management, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Banking Technique, Economic Geography, Psychology Agricultural Economics, Introduction to Environmental Economics, Urban Economics;
  5. Additional qualification disciplines: Foreign Language 1, Foreign Language 2, Acamedic Writting, Legal issues in Informatics;
  6. Internship;
  7. Diploma.

Assessmet scheme

The student's assessment scheme runs from mark 1 to 10 which have the following meaning: 1-4 fail, 5-6 sufficient, 7 satisfactory, 8 good, 9 very good, 10 excellent.

Exams are evaluated on a point basis system, the result of which is converted into marks based on the following schema:

Access to further study

The student who owns a Bachelor degree in Economics is eligible to pursue a Second Cycle program of study in the field of Economy and Social Sciences.

Employment opportunities and professional qualification

The student who owns such a degree can be employed in different institutions of banking sector, financial supervisory authorities, or businesses.
